Dear Newington Community,
As part of our efforts to help Tupou Colllege for their 150th Anniversary in 2016 we are sending the 3rd x 20 foot shipping container in 2016 (our 8th since 2010!). The first two have already departed absolutely full of the soon to be installed resources for the “Newington College e-learning Centre”, 2nd hand textbooks, classroom furniture, rugby resources and boots, clothing, all of the seating from the W6 Lecture Theatre, 17 whiteboards, a whole gymnasium worth of equipment (donated by a Newington parent) and 15 x 2nd hand data projectors.
Special thanks to Myles Carrick (Director of ICT) and Reza Jalili-Baleh (IT Team Leader) for their phenomenal efforts in designing and organising the IT resources including networking wi-fi and installing software etc. Year 10 Life Skills (along with Mr Gill and Mr Norman and the Newington Challenge boys and staff to help pack the first container to depart in 2016 also to Daniel Chubukoff (Property Department) and his team to help pack the 2nd container that is currently on the high seas!
Gullivers Sport Travel have continued their generosity since 2010 in sponsoring a major component of the container and I sincerely thank Ken Grover (owner) for his ongoing support of this initiative.
We are now calling for the following resources for container # 3 for 2016! Please refer to the list below to check that we will accept your donations.
