“Year 3 have been learning about Simple Machines. We have a scenario/problem and we need to try and fix that problem. We are working in groups and we are designing an invention that involves any of the 6 simple machines. We have created a shopping list to work out the materials for each. I am really enjoying this because we are making and creating.” A year 3 student
On Tuesday the students in Year 3 participated in a day of celebrations in preparation for the “Moon” Festival commencing on 27th September. They took part in various games in the classroom including: Chinese chess, lantern making, ink writing, origami and tangrams. The highlight of the day i think for most students was being able to watch “The Lion Dance”. An enjoyable day for all involved.
Stage Two have been busy problem solving and working collaboratively as Maths Professors. They have been practising their growth mindset by facing challenges with a positive attitude and not giving up. One of the boys stated “I am so happy” as they successfully completed one of the tasks they had been working hard at solving.
