Simple Machines Excursion

Today Stage 2 went on an excursion to the Maritime Museum. We had the opportunity to learn about 6 simple machines and how they make life easier for us. We explored the Museum and the “The Vampire” battle ship where the boys were able to identify and explain how the simple machines worked.

Most importantly we had lots of FUN whilst learning!!!!IMG_0207 IMG_0206 IMG_0203 IMG_0200 IMG_0199 IMG_0198 IMG_0195 IMG_0193 IMG_0187 IMG_0186 IMG_0178

How the world works

Year 3 have begun to inquire about how things work through the concept of “Function”.

This week they were Scientists and made predictions about Gravity and whether or not weight effects how quickly something would fall. They conducted their own inquiries by dropping objects off the balcony, from the same height, at the same time.

The boys had lots of fun and really enjoyed learning about the force of gravity!
