Today Year 3 had the opportunity to use the skills of observing and questioning to try and unlock the past of the artefacts each student brought to school. They enjoyed sharing the stories behind these symbolic pieces with each other afterwards.
Year 3 became “Historians” yesterday and were given jigsaw pieces of a photo. They had to use the skill of “observing” to be able to try and make assumptions and ask questions to work out what event the photo was of. They worked collaboratively to do this and at the end of the task made an analysis of the photo as a group.
At the Literature festival I learned that it takes a long time to make a picture book. I also learned that no one can’t be a perfect author or illustrator. The literature festival also taught me that you can draw anything if you try hard. I learned that poetry can also be nursery rhymes. I learned spoonerisms can be great fun.
